LIVE UPDATE from our #BigCatPhotoSafari to Sabi Sand, South Africa.
By Specialist Photographic Guides Lance van de Vyver and Villiers Steyn.
Our final afternoon drive was a busy one. We started off by finding 4 white rhino who we spent quite some time with. They posed nicely for us in the open and had red-billed ox peckers on their backs which made for some lovely images.
We then headed to the new hyena den where we found a few clan members lazing about. They were not very active, however, we returned to the den a bit later and found some action at the den.
Tlalamba, the female leopard, was then seen in front of camp drinking. She headed straight into the same block Tingana had his python meal in. It was a tough sighting as she did not keep still for one minute and instead, was constantly moving through the bush.
She did catch and kill a small dwarf mongoose at one stage and we witnessed her leap to do so. We then moved on for a sundowner stop before heading back to camp for a braai.
On our last morning we made our way north in search of the Talamati lions but again, were unsuccessful in finding them. We did however see many plains game.
We then ended our drive by spending time with Hosana in front of camp. Photographing him as he posed beautifully for us. And our trip finished as it started, with Hosana in front of camp.
