This morning we headed out on our final morning drive with the intention of looking for lions. Having had two lionesses at the waterhole in front of camp last night gave us a good starting point.
It was not long into drive when we found tracks of the two females who had joined up with the rest of the Nkuhuma pride. They were still on the move and we soon caught up with them. We managed to follow them for a while before they decided to head into the shade and rest as it started to warm up.
We then headed to Kobus’ dam for a coffee stop to reflect on the highlights of our trip and enjoy our last moments together.
On arrival at the dam we noticed a couple of hippos in the waterhole which gave us yet another photographic opportunity to shoot from a low angle on the ground. Everybody was on their bellies next to the dam photographing the hippos at eye level, between enjoying a cup of coffee.
We have had an incredible nine days on our Big Cat Photo Safari and, have not only met some fantastic people, but made new friends in the process. We will be back in just over two months and are excited at the prospects. With two more trips in August and September, we hope that some of you reading will be able to join us soon!
