Michael Dippenaar
Managing Director & Photographic Guide
Age: 27
Favourite animal: African Wild Dog (Lycaon pictus)

The connection to nature, that being in the bush creates, is something that at an early age, I wanted more of. For as long as I can remember, I dreamt of becoming a game ranger and sharing the simple yet unpredictable daily events of the bush, with others.

My passion for the African bushveld naturally progressed into wildlife photography and the need to showcase its beauty to others. Having experienced the value and benefits of this passion, I now endeavour to pass this onto others during At Close Quarters safaris.

I qualified as a Field Guide with FGASA Level 1 accreditation in 2015 and will be pursuing Trails Guide qualification in the future. I have an in-depth knowledge and a passion for reptiles, especially snakes and chameleons and a general interest in animal behaviour and interaction.

My images have been featured in Africa Geographic and Twenty20 portfolios.

Michael is a professional by trade with experience in nature guiding and training, hosting and management.
